Our Story

Great Dominion Story

I am a beautiful miracle.

I am Munachimso

I am Osinachim.

I am DOMINION!

I was born on the 26th August 2019 , although I was born at 36 weeks and 5 days old and was initially intubated for three hours, I was doing well and extubated afterwards,  and looking forward to going home. However, a few days after my birth, I began to struggle with my breathing. I was supported with oxygen and later put in a ventilator.

My family was in shock at what was going on, as the medical team tried to understand the change in my health circumstances and wellbeing.  Both my family and medical staff sought answers by carrying out various tests to try and make me better.

Days turned into weeks and weeks rolled into months.  One day, my parents got called in by medical team to be told that all efforts had been exhausted and that, they were sorry there was nothing more that could be done for me. I heard my mum’s cries, I felt her pains ,I felt my dad’s tears and heard my big brother and sister’s sweet prayerful voice every morning, through phone calls and every evening by my bed side. Within all these pains and confusion, my Mum and Dad still held on to hope and their faith as they prayed for a beautiful miracle.  Their faith in God became their only hope.

I am a Beautiful Miracle.

My  parents after getting this disheartening news, together with siblings, relatives and friends they searched both the physical and spiritual realm, God,  for answers, whilst the medical team searched through medical literature,  and platforms for answers.  I later got baptised in hospital.  Two days after my baptism, to show what I was made of, the strength God bestowed on me, I pulled my ventilating tube out and began to breathe on my own without the aid of a ventilator, just for 22 hours!

I am a beautiful miracle!

Twenty-two hours was all it took for God to show everyone that he heard my parents’ prayers, felt their pains and groans.  Twenty-two hours was the sign that God showed to my family after they pleaded for a sign on that fateful Monday, and it was indeed a beautiful miracle.

The following day, I was put back on the ventilator and few days later, the medical team came out with a result.  They informed my parents that I had a very rare genetic disorder known as ATAD 3A Deficiency, which had no cure and was currently under studies. They sought a second opinion, although they also made it clear that I, DOMINION, was quite different from other cases except one. However, the general overview showed the same deficiency, which they had very little knowledge about; however, as research is underway on this particular genetic disorder, there is no treatment for it.

But, I am still a beautiful

miracle!

I am DOMINION!

Months rolled by; numerous meetings were held; there were debates and disagreement before an agreement was eventually reached on the way forward but I remained a beautiful miracle!

On the 22nd December 2019, almost four months after my birth, I was taken into theatre for an intravenous line to be inserted for my fluid intake but my mum, dad and family were told that I was gone!  I hadn’t made it out!

Being the beautiful miracle that I am, I, DOMINION came back because my God said, it was not yet time for me to go.  I spent my first Christmas with my siblings, parents, my best friend Sienna-Mae and family, other families and hospital staff members which I was and still honoured, to call uncles and aunties.  It was so beautiful to have all these wonderful people around me at Christmas, it was awesome.

On 10th February2020, I DOMINION, Munachimso Osinachim became a sleeping baby and a beautiful angel and I flew home with my angel wings.

I am still a beautiful miracle!

I am a beautiful miracle and still want my light to shine as it shone at my family and friends and everyone that came across my blissful, blessed, short and beautiful life but still a fulfilled one. I DOMINION want my light to continue to shine at many more families in the whole world through my foundation, GREAT DOMINION.

The purpose of this charity is to focus on supporting families, hospital staff generally, in the UK and Nigeria (where my parents come from), by offering a range of support, information, gift items, mediation, that will help and empower parents of babies and staff in Special Care Units in order to build trust and create a lovely environment for all involved in the very challenging and stressful situation of looking after special care babies. By doing this, we will and hope to do unique things that can make a difference in a way that no other charity has ever done. It is our little way of putting smiles on faces of families and to ensure that the legacy that I, DOMINION has left will bring happiness to other parents, whose babies might be facing health challenges in the future.  I want to continue being a beautiful miracle from the depth of my angelic life and have great faith and hope that you all will love me and support me in achieving this.

Please help me and hold me, hold high, hold strong, hold firmly, hold together and let my little light shine!

I am

A Beautiful Miracle

A Beautiful Miracle.

I am DOMINION

Please, keep firm and hold hands together for me and for other children in a tremendous way, so that the sky is a limit to what can be achieved.
